Welcome to the Monte Vista High School Community. As an incoming freshman, you are about to embark on a four year journey at one of the best comprehensive high schools in California. Monte Vista distinguishes itself through excellent academics, competitive and service-oriented clubs, championship athletic teams, and award-winning arts programs. The Counseling Department would like to welcome you to Monte Vista High School and invite you to attend our Incoming 9th Grade Night to provide you with information and resources to foster a positive transition to MVHS. Entering high school brings tremendous excitement, but it may also bring a degree of uncertainty. Counselors and staff are looking forward to sharing the wide variety of new opportunities next school year will offer. Please join us on Monday, March 5th to learn about high school course options, graduation requirements and extra-curricular opportunities.

 

Incoming 9th Grade Night for students and parents (including public and private middle schools)

 

 Monday, March 5th from 5:15-7:10pm

Agenda

  • - Check-in, student folder pick up and optional campus tours by the MVHS flagpole (weather permitting).
    • tours run between 5:15-5:45pm
    • Allow extra time for parking. Sessions start promptly at 6pm.
    • Due to space constraints, please attend sessions with your alphabet break-out group.
  • -Three concurrent sessions focusing on the following:
    • -Counseling Presentation addresses course selection, graduation requirements as well as the academic, social and emotional transition to high school.
    • Large Gym-Dr. Kevin Ahern hosts a presentation on Student Life, which includes performances and a student panel.
    • -Informational Fair with booths featuring programs, special classes, organizations related to 9th grade students and parents.
