Students must also sign up for American Studies/U.S. History (page 11). Two periods - back to back U. S. History and American Literature courses will be combined in one year-long experience of history and literature, both of which will fulfill the junior year U. S. History and English 11 requirements. The students will use both historical and literary texts to investigate how the past influences us now as well as how our modern attitudes influence our view of the past. Individual and group projects, coordinated studies on selected subjects, possible field trips and some large group events will make this an unusual and stimulating experience.
