Senior Literature and Composition is designed for the student who is committed to serious preparation for college. The course provides extensive reading in the major types of literature, including classics recommended for college bound students. Composition assignments will develop writing methods necessary for success in college. The course will include a review of writing skills, instruction in stylistic techniques, practice in the use of varied sentence types, preparation for college essay and English placement examination, and development of essays based on advanced logic and organization. Students should expect a considerable amount of homework and challenging reading and writing assignments.
