The course content involves the study and performance of public speaking. Students will also be given the opportunity to partic ipate in dramatic and humorous interpretation. Students will learn the fundamentals of public speaking through the study and performance of a wide variety of speeches. Students will participate in committees, research topics of current interest, and write and debate bills in a mock congress. Students will also write and deliver speeches on a variety of subjects (ie. campaign, graduation, acceptance, persuasive, dramatic, humorous, newscast, pet peeve, etc.) Tournament competition is encouraged but not a requirement of the course.
