Special Ed Presentation 3/1 at 10am

Tassajara Hills Elementary School, in coordination with Ann Dodson, Principal, and Julie Graham, Special Needs PTA Chair, invite all parents and/or guardians to our upcoming informative PTA presentation ‪‪Wednesday, March 1st at 10:00am to learn more about the special education process, services and support services.  Please register here.   For more information regarding (dis) abilities that may affect your child, please visit http://www.srvusd.net/factsheets.

Learning Disabilities and support services:
•Does your child have a difficult time with reading, mathematics, oral and/or written expression, social interaction, gross motor and/or fine motor skills, or other aspects of school work?
•Do you understand what identifies a child as having a learning disability? Do you suspect your child may have a learning disability and are unsure of who to talk to, how it can be addressed, or where to begin to help your child?
•Are you concerned about stigmatization or about how identifying and receiving services may affect educational prospects down the road?
•Did you know that special needs services also includes students who have food or other allergies, are identified as GATE or 2E/Twice Exceptional, or have ADD/ADHD?
•Do you know the difference between a 504 plan and an IEP, if your child needs one, or how to receive one and put it into action?
