ACCESS ACTIVITY:  Students please sign up for Tuesday’s activity now. 

 

 

College Lacrosse at MV- Monday night (3/13) at 7:30pm  Cal Berkeley vs The University of Utah   Come see two of the top MCLA teams in the nation compete at MVHS, while also supporting the non-profit Oakland Lacrosse Club, an education and youth sports development organization.  We are collecting new and gently used lacrosse gear donations at the game for Oakland Lacrosse Club.

 

NEW MV TRAFFIX BUS:   Monte Vista students in the Alamo Creek and Monterosso communities have a new bus run.  The new bus MV-19A will follow a route that is similar to the MV-19 bus at Alamo Creek – with an additional stop this semester at Tassajara Crossing. CLICK HERE for new bus route.  For this semester (Spring 2017), TRAFFIX Bus passes for the MV-19A route are pro-rated at $145.00.  Passes are on Sale NOW for the Current Spring 2017 Semester.  CLICK HERE to purchase passes.  


Over the last few weeks, passes were offered to residents who are already on the MVHS Waiting List.  Today, we are opening up pass sales to all Monte Vista residents.   Passes for the 2017-2018 School Year will go on sale in mid-April. 

 

SDC DANCE VOLUNTEERS:  Volunteers for the SDC Dance on Friday meet in Ms Brix classroom at lunch Wednesday March 15th.

 

Attention class of 2020! The freshman leadership class is holding a school supplies donation drive for our sister school, Verde Elementary!  You are not just providing school supplies,  you are providing a future for the Verde students. Please drop any new school supplies in the collection boxes in the world geo/health classes and outside of Rm 209 by Friday, the 17th

 

RACE TO NOWHERE @ MV March 15 at 6pm in Theater

SENIOR PARENT MEETING- CLASS OF 2017. 3/13 @6pm Theater. 

Congratulations to parents/guardians who have encouraged, taught, prodded, supported, challenged and loved your child toward high school graduation!  There are many fun and significant events during these last few months of high school and we want to make sure you are prepared and well informed.  

 

During this meeting parents/guardians will be provided important information regarding Senior class activities and dates. Parents will have time to ask questions, sign up your student for Grad Night, and sign up to volunteer for upcoming class events.  The Class Parents encourage you to attend.

 

CLASS of 2017 STUDENT MEETING 3/21 @11am Access Activity
Congratulations to students who have worked, strived and pushed yourselves through testing, challenges and 12 years of compulsory education to reach this significant event.  

 

This meeting during Access is very important for 2017 graduates to attend. Students will receive all information that relates to the remainder of this school year. This includes contracts, information regarding Senior Ball, class activities, graduation and grad night.

 

SRVUSD High School Remediation Summer School 2017 @ Dougherty Valley High School This program is for remediation only...If a student earned a D/F grade in a course (English, History, Math, Biology)...he/she needs to attend summer school in order to remediate the grade/credits.  Each day is a week and each session represents one semesterApplications will be available from the Counseling Office around April 1st  

Session A: June 12 - June 29 8:00 am - 12:40 pm
Session B: June 30 - July 20   8:00 am - 12:40 pm

AP EXAMS:  Advanced Placement Exams are available for purchase on our student store at https://montevista.revtrak.net/ . You will have to create a user account if you do not have one already. From there you can click on the ‘AP Testing’ icon, or cut and paste https://montevista.revtrak.net/AP-Testing/#/list  into your web browser. Be sure to check that you are purchasing the correct exam. Exams are available for purchase through midnight on Sunday, March 19th, 2017.

*For all SRVUSD students that do not attend MVHS, please contact our bookkeeper, Mrs. Farrell, at ffarrel@srvusd.net to provide your name, contact information, and district student identification number. 

**Non-SRVUSD students are not eligible to test with us at this time. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

RANCHO SCHOLARSHIP FOR MV GRADS:  The Rancho Romero PTA is offering a $500 scholarship to a former Rancho Romero student now graduating from high school.  Our goal is find students who can share how their time at Rancho Romero really shaped who they are today.  With this in mind, please complete the application posted on school loop news and email to  psicjackie@yahoo.com

MV Athletic Boosters Scholarship – Award Program:  Attention Graduating Seniors: Did you participate in Monte Vista athletics?  Are you looking for some cash to help pay for college next year?  Or, are you planning to join the U.S. Military after graduation? Then you may be eligible for the Monte Vista Athletic Boosters Scholarship-Award Program

  • Up to six (6) $1,000 awards will be granted to Monte Vista student-athletes who demonstrate excellence through athletic participation, academic achievement, and service to Monte Vista High School.
  • Rules, eligibility guidelines, and the application form may be found on the school website (www.mvhs.schoolloop.com/athletic_scholarship).  Applications are being accepted now and must be received no later than April 1, 2017

Dads on Campus:
Speaker series with discussion as more than 40 Dads meet as scheduled.  Series topics are selected to support Dads and their teenage students.  Next meeting is March in Library.  Coordinator is Ryan Meineke ryanmeineke@yahool.com  

Parent Teacher Student Association – 4/14 10:30am Conference Rm
Parents meet routinely to support MV campus, staff and activities.  Volunteers coordinate programs such as Parent Education, Every 15 Minutes and After School Tutoring.  President is Bridget Pelley  mbpelley@live.com

Elected participation by Parents, Teachers, Student and Staff help direct funding to MV programs.  The current board positions are filled.  Coordinator is Kristine Sexton.

Monthly coffee scheduled 8:30am in 118 including presentations by students, faculty departments and time for Q&A with Administration. The next Coffee with Kevin is scheduled for February 8. No RSVP needed.

Academic Boosters- 5/10 10am WSC 118    
Fundraising for classroom teachers keeps our class sizes lower and offers more choices to our students.  This group meets monthly to direct funds and plan fundraisers.  Next meeting is February 8 @7pm, Library

Fundraising for all Mustang Sports Teams to pay for additional services, support for our teams.  President is Mike Aha

Students of Excellence- 5/23 WSC Jumbotron  
In May is the 2nd Semester Students of Excellence. Teachers each nominate a student for the intangible efforts. The nominated student is hard-working, has a positive attitude, and adds a special element to the classroom.  Nominations are submitted in April and then Parents/Students are notified.
