CAASPP MAKEUPS:  Students missing tests this week will be able to make up on Friday as arranged by Mrs Keefer.  Teachers are turning in lists to admin on Thursday so students will be pulled Friday to make up the test. 

 

Monitors on campus:  The District has provided a few extra monitors this week so make sure to say “thank you and welcome” when you see the new faces.  Ms Autumn is stationed in the North Lot.  Mr.Adolph in the student center is an extra monitor in the center of campus.  Thanks to our amazing Campus Monitors for all you do every day. 

  

2020 CLASS FUNDRAISER:  Hey Mustangs! The leadership Class of 2020 is having a fundraiser at Five Guys in Alamo, on Thursday the 30th. Grab all your friends and come on down for a burger and fries. Just mention MVHS at the register! Hope to see you all there!

 

LINK CREW:  Are you interested in helping welcome next year's Freshmen, the Class of 2021? Then join Link Crew! Link Crew is a student group focused on welcoming new students to Monte Vista during Freshman Orientation in August. Link Crew is open to students who are going to be Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors during the 2017-2018 school year. We are looking for students that have a lot of Mustang pride and who want to show incoming Freshmen what a great place Monte Vista is! For more information on Link Crew and how to apply, please check the posting on Schoolloop News or see Mrs. Kither in Room 206 or Mrs. Chaplan on the first floor of the WSC. Applications are due by April 24th!

○ CIF Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Clearance Form
○ Monte Vista cheerleader Agreement
○ Monte Vista cheerleader Tryout Agreement
○ Monte Vista cheerleader Tryout Application

**Make an appointment with your doctor ASAP. The Physical Evaluation Clearance Form must be completed and signed by your physician BEFORE ​tryouts. You will NOT ​be admitted to tryouts without this clearance.

** All items above must be returned to: Melissa French, Monte Vista High School, 3131 Stone Valley Road, Danville, CA 94526 no later than 3:00p.m. on April 10, 2017

 

Future Pommies,   After reviewing the tryout schedule and working with the Monte Vista dance teacher, there has been an amendment for the Pom tryouts to accommodate those that also participate in the dance program at MVHS.

NEWS REWIND

Attention Seniors, Senior Ball is here!  Senior Ball will be held Saturday, April 29th from 7:00 – 11:00 pm on SF Belle for a tour of the San Francisco Bay.  The boat will be leaving from Pier 3 in San Francisco.  Attendees need to be at Pier 3 by 6:15pm to begin the check in process.  Please plan ahead and be prepared for traffic or any unforeseen circumstances.  

Tickets will go on sale Thursday, March 23rd at 8:00 am for $110 each for ONE DAY ONLY through the webstore or bookkeepers window at lunch!!  Then March 24th – April 18th tickets will be sold for $125 each on the webstore.  The last day to purchase tickets will be on Wednesday, April 19th at lunch for $125 each.  Tickets will be sold while available.  Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable so be sure you plan on attending ball before you purchase your tickets!  You must have your ticket and current student ID card for admittance to Senior Ball.

 

SRVUSD High School Remediation Summer School 2017 @ Dougherty Valley High School This program is for remediation only...If a student earned a D/F grade in a course (English, History, Math, Biology)...he/she needs to attend summer school in order to remediate the grade/credits.  Each day is a week and each session represents one semesterApplications will be available from the Counseling Office around April 1st  

Session A: June 12 - June 29 8:00 am - 12:40 pm
Session B: June 30 - July 20   8:00 am - 12:40 pm


RANCHO SCHOLARSHIP FOR MV GRADS:  The Rancho Romero PTA is offering a $500 scholarship to a former Rancho Romero student now graduating from high school.  Our goal is find students who can share how their time at Rancho Romero really shaped who they are today.  With this in mind, please complete the application posted on school loop news and email to  psicjackie@yahoo.com

 

MV Athletic Boosters Scholarship – Award Program:  Attention Graduating Seniors: Did you participate in Monte Vista athletics?  Are you looking for some cash to help pay for college next year?  Or, are you planning to join the U.S. Military after graduation? Then you may be eligible for the Monte Vista Athletic Boosters Scholarship-Award Program

  • Up to six (6) $1,000 awards will be granted to Monte Vista student-athletes who demonstrate excellence through athletic participation, academic achievement, and service to Monte Vista High School.
  • Rules, eligibility guidelines, and the application form may be found on the school website (www.mvhs.schoolloop.com/athletic_scholarship).  Applications are being accepted now and must be received no later than April 1, 2017

Dads on Campus:
Speaker series with discussion as more than 50 Dads meet as scheduled.  Series topics are selected to support Dads and their teenage students.  Next meeting is March in Library.  Coordinator is Ryan Meineke ryanmeineke@yahool.com  

Parent Teacher Student Association – 4/14 10:30am Conference Rm
Parents meet routinely to support MV campus, staff and activities.  Volunteers coordinate programs such as Parent Education, Every 15 Minutes and After School Tutoring.  President is Bridget Pelley  mbpelley@live.com

School Site Council- 4/13 3:30pm WSC 118
Elected participation by Parents, Teachers, Student and Staff help direct funding to MV programs.  The current board positions are filled.  Coordinator is Kristine Sexton. 

Coffee with Kevin- 4/19 8:30am WSC 118
Monthly coffee scheduled 8:30am in 118 including presentations by students, faculty departments and time for Q&A with Administration. The next Coffee with Kevin is scheduled for February 8. No RSVP needed.

Academic Boosters- 5/10 10am WSC 118    
Fundraising for classroom teachers keeps our class sizes lower and offers more choices to our students.  This group meets monthly to direct funds and plan fundraisers.  Next meeting is February 8 @7pm, Library

Athletic Boosters- 4/10 7PM WSC 118
Fundraising for all Mustang Sports Teams to pay for additional services, support for our teams.  President is Mike Aha

Students of Excellence- 5/23 WSC Jumbotron  
In May is the 2nd Semester Students of Excellence. Teachers each nominate a student for the intangible efforts. The nominated student is hard-working, has a positive attitude, and adds a special element to the classroom.  Nominations are submitted in April and then Parents/Students are notified.
