CAASPP TESTING:  Juniors are scheduled to take CAASPP testing during History Classes from 4/10-21 as arranged per teacher. 

 

TRAFFIX Bus Passes will go on sale this year through Traffix website beginning April 17that 6:30 AM. There is no lottery this year.  The promotional bus pass rate is $240.  You can link to it here.

 

Team HBV Meeting 4/12 There will be a Team HBV meeting this Wednesday, 4/12 at lunch, in Mrs. Hanoian's room (910). We'll be starting a new club project, so don't miss out!  Thank you.  Team HBV Leadership

 

Asian Student Union Mandatory Meeting  ASU Mandatory meeting this Wednesday in room 206. Bring your lunch. We will be discussing some basic club information along with recent asian discrimination issues.

 

JOB FAIR:  Tuesday, April 18th at lunch in the Amphitheatre there will be a teen job fair.  The Town of Danville along with several other businesses from our community will have tables that you can walk up and speak with.  They will be there to inform you about what jobs they have available and how you can go about applying for them.  All grade levels are welcome to attend.

LINK CREW:  Are you interested in helping welcome next year's Freshmen, the Class of 2021? Then join Link Crew! Link Crew is a student group focused on welcoming new students to Monte Vista during Freshman Orientation in August. Link Crew is open to students who are going to be Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors during the 2017-2018 school year. We are looking for students that have a lot of Mustang pride and who want to show incoming Freshmen what a great place Monte Vista is! For more information on Link Crew and how to apply, please check the posting on Schoolloop News or see Mrs. Kither in Room 206 or Mrs. Chaplan on the first floor of the WSC. Applications are due by April 24th!

Attention Seniors, Senior Ball is here!  Senior Ball will be held Saturday, April 29th from 7:00 – 11:00 pm on SF Belle for a tour of the San Francisco Bay.  The boat will be leaving from Pier 3 in San Francisco.  Attendees need to be at Pier 3 by 6:15pm to begin the check in process.  Please plan ahead and be prepared for traffic or any unforeseen circumstances.  

Tickets on sale up to April 18th for $125 each on the webstore.  The last day to purchase tickets will be on Wednesday, April 19th at lunch for $125 each.  Tickets will be sold while available.  Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable so be sure you plan on attending ball before you purchase your tickets!  You must have your ticket and current student ID card for admittance to Senior Ball.

 

SRVUSD High School Remediation Summer School 2017 @ Dougherty Valley High School This program is for remediation only...If a student earned a D/F grade in a course (English, History, Math, Biology)...he/she needs to attend summer school in order to remediate the grade/credits.  Each day is a week and each session represents one semesterApplications will be available from the Counseling Office around April 1st  

Session A: June 12 - June 29 8:00 am - 12:40 pm
Session B: June 30 - July 20   8:00 am - 12:40 pm (7/4 no school)

Dads on Campus:
Speaker series with discussion as more than 50 Dads meet as scheduled.  Series topics are selected to support Dads and their teenage students.  Next meeting is March in Library.  Coordinator is Ryan Meineke ryanmeineke@yahool.com  

Parent Teacher Student Association – 4/14 10:30am Conference Rm
Parents meet routinely to support MV campus, staff and activities.  Volunteers coordinate programs such as Parent Education, Every 15 Minutes and After School Tutoring.  President is Bridget Pelley  mbpelley@live.com

School Site Council- 4/13 3:30pm WSC 118
Elected participation by Parents, Teachers, Student and Staff help direct funding to MV programs.  The current board positions are filled.  Coordinator is Kristine Sexton. 

Coffee with Kevin- 4/19 8:30am WSC 118
Monthly coffee scheduled 8:30am in 118 including presentations by students, faculty departments and time for Q&A with Administration. The next Coffee with Kevin is scheduled for February 8. No RSVP needed.

Academic Boosters- 5/10 10am WSC 118    
Fundraising for classroom teachers keeps our class sizes lower and offers more choices to our students.  This group meets monthly to direct funds and plan fundraisers.  Next meeting is February 8 @7pm, Library

Athletic Boosters- 4/10 7PM WSC 118
Fundraising for all Mustang Sports Teams to pay for additional services, support for our teams.  President is Mike Aha

Students of Excellence- 5/23 WSC Jumbotron  
In May is the 2nd Semester Students of Excellence. Teachers each nominate a student for the intangible efforts. The nominated student is hard-working, has a positive attitude, and adds a special element to the classroom.  Nominations are submitted in April and then Parents/Students are notified.
