MV Women's Swim Team wins big at NCS

The Monte Vista girls team captured the NCS Title this past weekend.  The last time Monte Vista won the title on the girls side was 1990, 27 years ago.  They won seven swimming events, including the last four of the meet, on the way to a dominating team title with 313 points.  Zoie Hartmann captured 1st place in the 200IM with a new school record and 1st in the 100 Breaststroke, tying the existing school record.  Abrianna Howard took 1st place in the 100 Back and Makenna Turner took 1st in the 100 Fly breaking the school record as well breaking the school record in the 200Free.

 

The girls also swept all three relay titles. In the 200 medley relay, the squad of Abriana Howard, Zoie Hartman, Makenna Turner and Gillian Flath was victorious in 1:42.51 with a new school record. Isabella Barattolo, Gillian Flath, Alyssa Hornbuckle and Hartman won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:34.19 with a new school record. In the 400 freestyle relay, Monte Vista’s team of Makenna Turner, Isabella Barattolo, Jenna Seaman and Abriana Howard won in 3:27.54.

 

Also a big shout out to Elsie Harrison and Natasha Pantic for also contributing points to the championship.
