MONDAY, August 28 is a regular bell schedule day- remember that Tuesday is a late start day.    

Course Changes: The last day to request a course change is Friday, September 1st. Students must meet with their counselor to pick up a course change form by Friday, September 1st. The signed course change forms are then due back to the office by brunch on Tuesday, September 5th. Forms will not be accepted after Tuesday, September 5th.

 

 

DO YOU WANT TO START A CLUB? 
All the info is posted on the website under the student tab/clubs.  Get packet online, find an advisor, fill out an app and write a constitution.  All materials are due 9/1. 

 

 

Attention Seniors!  Your fall senior panoramic photo and picnic will be on Monday, September 11th.   If you purchased a senior gold card, this trip and the photo are included.  If you did not purchase a senior gold card and still wish to attend, you can purchase the Waterworld trip and panoramic photo through the webstore through August 31st.  Permission slips are due to Ms. Watson in the counseling office by Thursday, August 31st.  If you still need a permission slip you can get one from Ms. Watson in the counseling office.

AN EVENING WITH SUPERINTENDENT RICK SCHMITT
This year the meetings will be held in middle schools.  The most convenient locations include Los Cerros (9/25 at 9am) and Stone Valley (10/25 at 8:30).  The discussion will focus on expanding opportunities for student, family and staff choice, improving student wellness, enhancing staff working conditions, and ensuring that each student, employee and family feels safe and respected.

 

OKTOBERFEST!  Join other Mustang sports fans for the second annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 30 at the Oak Hill Park Community Center, hosted by Monte Vista Athletic Boosters.  This is an adults only event with great food and beverages, plus a commemorative pint glass.  All proceeds support Monte Vista Athletics.  See http://www.mvathleticboosters.org for more event info and purchase tickets in the MVHS web store. 

 

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS:  are you aware that PTA/PTSA has scholarship opportunities? You must be a PTSA member to be eligible to apply.  Watch for announcements about current and new Grant opportunities.

 

TEEN CENTER JOBS:  The Town of Danville is hiring program staff for the Teen Centers at Los Cerros, Diablo Vista, and Charlotte Wood Middle Schools.  Responsibilities include supervising and ensuring the safety of middle school students as well as planning and implementing a variety of daily and weekly activities.  The hours are weekdays from 2:30 - 6:30 pm.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  For more information, please contact Lisa at lcrespo@danville.ca.gov, 925-314-3403.

 

 

Attention girls! The Miss Contra Costa County scholarship program is currently accepting applications for the Miss Contra Costa County and Miss Contra Costa County’s Outstanding Teen competitions. This year’s competition will be held on November 4th at Cal High. The current Miss Contra Costa County and Monte Vista ’12 alum, Alissa Anderegg, has earned over $10,000 in scholarships from competing!
