Need help with Spanish?  PTSA is sponsoring free tutoring for all levels of Spanish to help you hablar español.  Come to Room 408 (Sra. Estevez) after school on Mondays, 3:15 - 4:15pm.  ¡Hasta Luego!

The math department will be offering the after school math lab sponsored by PTSA starting the week of 9/11.   Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20pm-4:20pm in room 523.


ATHLETIC PE:  submit completed forms by Friday, 9/8 to Michele Nino in Counseling. 



SUPPORT MV FOOTBALL:  5 Guys will donate 20% of all sales this Friday, 9/8 from 4 pm - 10 pm to MV 12th Man, please help support our MV football program.



FOOTBALL GAME HONORS OUR VETS:   This Friday, Sept 8 - MV vs. Dublin.  All Veterans are admitted free and will receive complimentary hot dogs, beverage, and homemade apple pie! Call the Veterans Memorial Building for tickets: 925-362-9806


SUICIDE PREVENTION:  On Friday, Monte Vista will be promoting awareness of World Suicide Prevention Day (#WSPD17) at the flagpoles during brunch and lunch. Come down to show your support and spread awareness on Friday by penning words such as “Stay”, “Love” “#IWasMadeFor” on your arms, sharing a post on social media using the #WPSD17 hashtag, and wear an orange ribbon on your wrist!




SIGN UP TODAY TO SAVE LIVES:  Want to save three lives? BEYOND MEASURE:  PTSA Presents Movie Screening of Beyond Measure - Please Register!  Free for PTSA Members, bring your membership card. Thursday, September 14th, 6-8pm. MVHS Theater.  From the Director of Race to Nowhere shown at MV in the Spring, this film offers a way forward to rescue this overscheduled, overtested, underestimated generation.  Non-Members, Donation of $10.

Want to have your pictures published in the Yearbook this year?  We’re using an awesome tool called HJeShare. This online program allows anyone to upload pictures directly into our photo database for consideration.  This will help us cover more aspects of student and campus life. You can download the (free!) app to your phone, or access it online at http://www.hjeshare.com/eShare/Index.jspOur school code is MVmustangs. These photos will only be viewed by the Yearbook advisor and editors,  with approved photos passed on to the Yearbook Staff for publication!


COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID:  Monday, September 18th at 7:00pm in the TheatreMV College and Career Coordinator Cathy Haberl hosts Cora Manuel, Assistant Director of Financial aid at Saint Mary’s College of California and Associate Financial Aid Analyst for the California Student Aid Commission, and now for Pacific School of Religion.  She will be focusing on completing the FAFSA and CSS Profile documents.  She will also be available to answer any questions you might have.  You do not need to sign up to attend.


COLLEGE NIGHT at MV:  Wednesday, October 25th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at MV.  This 30th Annual College Night is brought to you through the combined efforts of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and the Academic Boosters from California, Dougherty Valley, Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley High Schools.  No participant RSVP is required.

We reserve the right to refuse or edit any portion of your message or photo that is unacceptable for publication.

DO YOU GET ALL THE NEWS FROM MV?    At any time the daily bulletin and other news items can be accessed on the MV homepage.   Please contact Jodi McFarland if you have any problems receiving the news.  jmcfarland@srvusd.net  

Do you receive daily bulletins?  School Loop sends out daily grade updates and bulletins.  To make this choice sign in to school loop and select it under your settings tab in the upper right corner.  When you do receive the daily news you still need to click on the bulletin link to read it. 

Do you receive weekly bulletins?  On Monday’s the bulletin is also sent out by the messenger program.  Some parents prefer to receive it only weekly so that program works better for them.  This choice is sometimes not received if you have at one time blocked emails from MV.  It is corrected by contacting the district communication office. 



PARKING PERMITS:  Hello Students! Good News! There are a limited number of Carpool and General Student parking permits available. Permits will be granted through a lottery process. Cost of permit is $150. Please see guidelines below.

If you already have a general parking permit and would like to switch to a carpool parking permit, you must download a carpool application form from the school website.  No additional check is needed.


General Parking

New applicants for general parking permits, please go to the MVHS website and download the parking permit application.


Please fill out and return application to Mrs. Farrell in the bookkeeper’s office NO LATER than Friday, September 8th at 4PM. All new completed applications must be submitted with payment ($150). This item is not available on the webstore.  No exceptions!


Attention Seniors!  Your fall senior panoramic photo and picnic will be on Monday, September 11th.   If you purchased a senior gold card, this trip and the photo are included.  If you did not purchase a senior gold card and still wish to attend, you can purchase the Waterworld trip and panoramic photo through the webstore through August 31st.  Permission slips are due to Ms. Watson in the counseling office by Thursday, August 31st.  If you still need a permission slip you can get one from Ms. Watson in the counseling office.

OKTOBERFEST!  Join other Mustang sports fans for the second annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 30 at the Oak Hill Park Community Center, hosted by Monte Vista Athletic Boosters.  This is an adults only event with great food and beverages, plus a commemorative pint glass.  All proceeds support Monte Vista Athletics.  See http://www.mvathleticboosters.org for more event info and purchase tickets in the MVHS web store.

Dads on Campus:
Speaker series with discussion as more than 50 Dads meet as scheduled.  Series topics are selected to support Dads and their teenage students.  Coordinator is Ryan Meineke ryan.meineke@yahool.com  

Parent Teacher Student Association 
Parents meet routinely to support MV campus, staff and activities.  Volunteers coordinate programs such as Parent Education and After School Tutoring.  President is Janet Nunan.  Next meeting:  September 8 at 10:30 in Conference Room 

School Site Council
Elected participation by Parents, Teachers, Student and Staff help direct funding to MV programs.  The current board positions are filled.  Coordinator is Kristine Sexton.  Next meeting is September 21 at 3:30 in WSC 118.  

Coffee with Kevin
Monthly coffee scheduled 8:30am in 118 including presentations by students, faculty departments and time for Q&A with Administration. No RSVP needed.  The next Coffee is September 20th at 8:30am in WSC 118.  

Academic Boosters
Fundraising for classroom teachers keeps our class sizes lower and offers more choices to our students.  This group meets monthly to direct funds and plan fundraisers.  The next meeting is September 13th at 10am in WSC 118.  

Athletic Boosters  
Fundraising for all Mustang Sports Teams to pay for additional services, support for our teams.

Fundraising for Mustang Football. 

Students of Excellence  12/17
Teachers each nominate a student for the intangible efforts. The nominated student is hard-working, has a positive attitude, and adds a special element to the classroom.
