Want to apply for the Robotics Club?

Hi, everyone!

The Monte Vista Robotics Club is formally opening its application for the 2017-2018 school year. We are Team 1458 of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), an international competition in which teams of high school students construct a robot to compete in a specialized game every year.

FRC Team 1458 provides its members with the chance to join a community of students and mentors dedicated to the application of science and technology. As part of the team, you will be able to gain experience with advanced power tools in mechanical assembly, 3D design in CAD, electrical and pneumatic systems, robot programming, and marketing, all while collaborating with a close group of peers.

Before you sign up, please recognize that membership requires a significant commitment of time and effort. This is not a simple "show up and get credits" club. Be prepared to be asked to be present at weekly meetings at lunch and after school up until January. Active participation is especially critical to the team’s success during build season, a six-week period starting January 6th during which we meet from 3:10-6:00 pm during the school week, and 8:00 am-5:00 pm on Saturdays, ending on February 20th.

If working with robotics and having fun as a team sounds like something you want to do, please complete the application below.

Don’t forget to visit us at the Club Fair!

Thank you.

Matthieu Lu and Ivan Vuong
Monte Vista Robotics Club Co-Presidents
