SUPERINTENDENT FALL PARENT MEETINGS: Superintendent Rick Schmitt invites parents to join him in a conversation about District priorities and future initiatives. The discussions will focus on expanding opportunities and flexibility for students, families and staff, improving student wellness, enhancing staff working conditions and ensuring that each student, employee and family feels safe and respected. Parents may choose among the meetings however there is one scheduled to be in the MV Library, 10/17 at 6pm.
COLLEGE NIGHT at MV: Wednesday, October 25th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at MV. This 30th Annual College Night is brought to you through the combined efforts of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and the Academic Boosters from California, Dougherty Valley, Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley High Schools. No participant RSVP is required.
CREW TEAM: It's not too late to learn a new sport! Oakland Strokes rowers are among the most competitive and athletic high school students nationwide. Come get strong in the off-season of your current sport. Strokes rowers are recruited every year to Division I, II, and III colleges- you can become a recruited student athlete, too! Holiday Bake Extravaganza 2017
MV PTSA needs your help to show appreciation to all our wonderful teachers and staff at MVHS this Holiday Season. During this event, each teacher/staff member selects a tray of holiday treats. In addition, teachers who are members of the PTSA participate in a raffle for a loaded holiday gift basket. The traditional Holiday Bake Extravaganza is 12/8 in the Workday Student Center 118. Traffic Reminders for Monte Vista
Due to an increase in unsafe driving habits around Monte Vista, please be reminded of the rules of the road.
Students- Take your time leaving class and the parking lots. Pausing for ten minutes may save your life and your bumper. Uturns across the Stone Valley double yellow are illegal and unsafe.
Parents- Save time and traffic by picking your student up at 3:45pm after the student has studied for 30 minutes in the library or WSC.
Parents- Drop off/pick up in front of gym to take a legal left turn on Stone Valley at the light. There is no legal left turn out of the horseshoe during pick up and drop off hours.
Pedestrians- Stay in the car until safe to exit to the sidewalk. There is no drop off in red zone or mid street for your safety.

Monte Vista Athletic Boosters - We need your support!!
MVAB’s mission is to help MVH Athletics provide a positive atmosphere of sportsmanship and learning for the MVHS student-athlete and their athletic teams. This is done by providing needed funding for a variety of capital improvements, as well as educational and program support. Supporting these programs is only possible through your generous donations, including:
MUSTANG VIP Card: $350, 1/3 of the purchase price is donated directly to the individual sports team selected. The remainder more broadly helps MVAB and the Athletic Department in their mission of supporting MV student Athletes. Here are some details:
- ADMISSION for up to 4 people to ALL home football and Men’s and Women’s basketball games, ex playoffs
- DIRECT PARTICIPATION in helping maintain a positive sports environment by supporting our sports programs (e.g., Student-Athlete Scholarships, capital improvements, health/safety equipment) and future facility improvements.

Dads on Campus:
Speaker series with discussion as more than 50 Dads meet as scheduled. Series topics are selected to support Dads and their teenage students. Coordinator is Ryan Meineke ryan.meineke@yahoo.com Next meeting is November 1 at 7pm in Library.
Parent Teacher Student Association
Parents meet routinely to support MV campus, staff and activities. Volunteers coordinate programs such as Parent Education and After School Tutoring. President is Janet Nunan. Next meeting: October 13 at 10:30 in Conference Room
School Site Council
Elected participation by Parents, Teachers, Student and Staff help direct funding to MV programs. The current board positions are filled. Coordinator is Kristine Sexton. Next meeting is October 12 at 3:30 in WSC 118.
Coffee with Kevin
Monthly coffee scheduled 8:30am in 118 including presentations by students, faculty departments and time for Q&A with Administration. No RSVP needed. The next Coffee is October 18 at 8:30am in WSC 118.
Academic Boosters
Fundraising for classroom teachers keeps our class sizes lower and offers more choices to our students. This group meets monthly to direct funds and plan fundraisers. The next meeting is October 11 at 10am in WSC 118.
Athletic Boosters
Fundraising for all Mustang Sports Teams to pay for additional services, support for our teams.
12th Man
Fundraising for Mustang Football.
Students of Excellence 12/17
Teachers each nominate a student for the intangible efforts. The nominated student is hard-working, has a positive attitude, and adds a special element to the classroom.
