SENIORS:  The Final order day for caps/gowns and grad announcements will be Friday, November 3 during LUNCH only.  All seniors who have not yet placed their grad order must do so at this time!

Come see the popular short story by Edgar Allen Poe come to life on the Monte Vista stage. The Fall of the House of Usher runs November 2,3,4 2017 at 7pm in the Al Gentile Theater.


Opening night, Thursday, November 2nd, is a special evening for ASB Clubs - There is a special price being offered for this night only! Get your fellow club members together to come and support the Drama Club!

$10 adults

Please make your selection carefully as there are no refunds through the web store. Thank you for supporting the Arts at Monte Vista!  Please bring your receipt to WILL CALL the night of the performance to pick up your tickets. There may be tickets available at the door on the night of the performance. Enjoy the show!


Wanna play dodge ball?  Sign-ups are Thursday 11/2 and Friday 11/3 at lunch in front of the flagpole at the amphitheater!  ONLY captains come to sign teams up AND you must have your WHOLE team set when you sign up”


BAND FRIDAY NIGHT This Friday, Nov 3rd, we are expecting over 150 band students from Diablo Vista Middle School, Los Cerros Middle School, and Stone Valley Middle School at the MVHS v. Cal High home football game. These future Mustangs will join the Mustang Marching Band in the stands and will form a GIANT Pep Band to root for the Red and Black!


BAND COMPETES This weekend, the MVHS Marching Band and Color Guard will compete at the 14th Annual Folsom Fall Festival at Folsom High School.  We are inviting all Mustang fans to cheer on the Red and Black as we compete at Northern CA largest and most spectacular marching band competition.  The region’s best marching bands and color guards will compete at Folsom High School Prairie City Stadium on Saturday 11/4.


FACE IT OPENING RECEPTION:  11/2 5-7pm Village Theater Danville  On November 2, the “Face It” Art exhibit filled with artwork by 30 MVHS students and 120 by students in SRVUSD. The show will run through December 17 in the Village Theater downtown. Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, November 2 from 5-7 PM and come out to support your local art students!

NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT:  On behalf of the Monte Vista Athletic Department, I would like to invite you to a brief recognition ceremony on Wednesday, November 8th at 7:30 am in room 118 of the Workday Student Center.  The student-athletes listed below will be signing a National Letter of Intent, which is a document used to indicate a student-athlete’s commitment to participating in NCAA D1 and DII Athletics.  If you are available, please come to support our kids.   Let me know if you have any questions.  I’m looking forward to seeing you next Wednesday.

Tassajara Hills Elementary School is looking for cabin leaders for Walker Creek. They are looking for both male and female that are at least sophomores and in good academic standing. They are holding an informational meeting on November 2nd at Tassajara Hills at 4:00. You will need to attend one of the meetings.  If you are interested stop by the career center and pick up an application! The dates of camp are January 22rd- 25th 2018.  They need 10-12 females and 10-12 males, so grab a friend and join the fun at 5th grade outdoor education.  If you have questions or want more information contact Miss Yfantis @ syfantis@srvusd.net


Traffic Reminders for Monte Vista

Due to an increase in unsafe driving habits around Monte Vista, please be reminded of the rules of the road.  


Students- Take your time leaving class and the parking lots.  Pausing for ten minutes may save your life and your bumper. Uturns across the Stone Valley double yellow are illegal and unsafe.


Parents- Save time and traffic by picking your student up at 3:45pm after the student has studied for 30 minutes in the library or WSC. 


Parents- Drop off/pick up in front of gym to take a legal left turn on Stone Valley at the light.    There is no legal left turn out of the horseshoe during pick up and drop off hours.


Pedestrians- Stay in the car until safe to exit to the sidewalk.  There is no drop off in red zone or mid street for your safety.

CANDY DONATIONS:  From Thursday the 2nd to Thursday the 9th, Pledge to Humanity is accepting donations of candy from you and your friends to help support local foster children! Make sure to save Your Halloween candy and bring it to school to donate to the needy. A bin will be located out in front of school! Hope to see you there!!!!

To get a parking permit for 2018 MV students and parents must attend a two hour CHP Start Smart class. The presentations give teens and their parents/guardians opportunity to discuss the serious laws, obligations, responsibilities and family expectations that are part of driving a vehicle.  . All SRVUSD comprehensive high schools will offer 3-4 free classes each year that are open to anyone.  Classes are scheduled for MV Theater at 7pm on 11/14, 1/25, 2/21, 4/18.  The class must be taken once during a student’s high school career.  CLICK HERE to register or for FAQ


Holiday Bake Extravaganza 2017

MV PTSA needs your help to show appreciation to all our wonderful teachers and staff at MVHS this Holiday Season. During this event, each teacher/staff member selects a tray of holiday treats.  In addition, teachers who are members of the PTSA participate in a raffle for a loaded holiday gift basket.  The traditional Holiday Bake Extravaganza is 12/8 in the Workday Student Center 118.   CLICK HERE

Dads on Campus: 
Speaker series with discussion as more than 50 Dads meet as scheduled.  Series topics are selected to support Dads and their teenage students.  Coordinator is Ryan Meineke ryan.meineke@yahoo.com  

 Parent Teacher Student Association 
Parents meet routinely to support MV campus, staff and activities.  Volunteers coordinate programs such as Parent Education and After School Tutoring.  President is Janet Nunan.  Next meeting:  November 3 at 10:30 in Conference Room 

School Site Council
Elected participation by Parents, Teachers, Student and Staff help direct funding to MV programs.  The current board positions are filled.  Coordinator is Kristine Sexton.  Next meeting is November 16  at 3:30 in WSC 118.  

Coffee with Kevin
Monthly coffee scheduled 8:30am in 118 including presentations by students, faculty departments and time for Q&A with Administration. No RSVP needed.  The next Coffee is November 15 at 8:30am in WSC 118.  

Academic Boosters
Fundraising for classroom teachers keeps our class sizes lower and offers more choices to our students.  This group meets monthly to direct funds and plan fundraisers.  The next meeting is November 8 at 10am in WSC 118.  

Athletic Boosters   
MVAB’s mission is to help MVH Athletics provide a positive atmosphere of sportsmanship and learning for the MVHS student-athlete and their athletic teams.  This is done by providing needed funding for a variety of capital improvements, as well as educational and program support.

Teachers each nominate a student for the intangible efforts. The nominated student is hard-working, has a positive attitude, and adds a special element to the classroom.
