WHAT A WEEKEND MUSTANGS!!! 
Marching Band and Colorguard went to Merced and took 1st Place Division Champions and 2nd Place Overall Band Percussion. 11/18 is next Band Battle GO MUSTANGS!

Women’s Volleyball WON NCS CHAMPIONSHIP for 4x
Women’s Tennis WON NCS CHAMPIONSHIP for 4x
Women’s Waterpolo competed hard in NCS Championship losing 5-8 and will continue on in the Nor Cal Tourney

 

WINTER SPORTS PARENT NIGHT Wednesday, 11/15 @ 6:30pm
Don’t be late as the agenda includes Athletic Department Presentations to start and a meeting with your athlete’s coaching staff. Winter sports include:  basketball, soccer, and wrestling. Parent support lends to the success of our student-athletes and attendance is expected.  We are looking forward to seeing you all there.  Andy Popper, Athletic Director

DRIVERS ED PROGRAM AT MV 11/14 at 7 is the first MV Street Smart/CHP class required for next year’s parking permit.   The presentations give teens and their parents/guardians opportunity to discuss the serious laws, obligations, responsibilities and family expectations that are part of driving a vehicle.  . All SRVUSD comprehensive high schools will offer 3-4 free classes each year that are open to anyone.  Classes are scheduled for MV Library at 7pm on 11/14, 1/25, 2/21, 4/18.  The class must be taken once during a student’s high school career.  CLICK HERE to register or for FAQ

Calling all MV soccer fans!  Show your MV soccer pride this season and get decked out in spirit wear!  We will be selling soccer spirit wear on Wednesday, November 15th, at the winter sports night beginning at 6:00PM.  We have limited quantities to take home that night; however, we will also be taking orders.  Cash or Check only.  Checks will be made payable to MV Men's Soccer.

Hello Mustangs!  The Antisocial Social Club is having a meeting during lunch  Tuesday (11/14) in Ms. Leadingham's room (226). To celebrate National Origami Day the club will be collaborating with the Origami Club. We will be making cranes for cancer patients during the meeting. See you there!

Mandatory FRIENDS OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS Meeting Wednesday, 11/15 @lunch in Rm 423:  Register for Polar Plunge and start raising money now for March 3rd event in SF.

Traffic Reminders for Monte Vista

Please talk with your family about the rules of the road and safe driving around the MV campus.      Thanks and be safe out there Mustangs!  

 

Students- Take your time leaving class and the parking lots.  Pausing for ten minutes may save your life and your bumper. Uturns across the Stone Valley double yellow are illegal and unsafe.

 

Parents- Save time and traffic by picking your student up at 3:45pm after the student has studied for 30 minutes in the library or WSC. 

 

Parents- Drop off/pick up in front of gym to take a legal left turn on Stone Valley at the light.    There is no legal left turn out of the horseshoe during pick up and drop off hours.

 

Pedestrians- Stay in the car until safe to exit to the sidewalk.  There is no drop off in red zone or mid street for your safety.    

 

SENIOR PORTRAITS Just a friendly reminder to make sure that your senior portrait (with drape, tuxedo, or cap and gown) gets scheduled and taken! You can schedule this through Creative Imaging's website, or call them at (925)485-6025! Please contact them with any questions about senior portraits. The deadline for formal portraits is at the beginning of December, so schedule your portrait today!

FACE IT EXHIBITION:  Village Theater Danville  Visit the “Face It” Art exhibit filled with artwork by 30 MVHS students and other district student artists.  The show will run through December 17 in the Village Theater downtown.

Are you looking for a way to support your MV Student?  Here is a list of some suggestions for parents to be engaged on the MV Campus

Dads on Campus: 
Speaker series with discussion as more than 50 Dads meet as scheduled.  Series topics are selected to support Dads and their teenage students.  Coordinator is Ryan Meineke ryan.meineke@yahoo.com  

Parent Teacher Student Association 
Parents meet routinely to support MV campus, staff and activities.  Volunteers coordinate programs such as Parent Education and After School Tutoring.  President is Janet Nunan.  

School Site Council
Elected participation by Parents, Teachers, Student and Staff help direct funding to MV programs.  The current board positions are filled.  Coordinator is Kristine Sexton.  Next meeting is November 16  at 3:30 in WSC 118.  

Coffee with Kevin
Monthly coffee scheduled 8:30am in 118 including presentations by students, faculty departments and time for Q&A with Administration. No RSVP needed.  The next Coffee is November 15 at 8:30am in WSC 118.  

Academic Boosters
Fundraising for classroom teachers keeps our class sizes lower and offers more choices to our students.  This group meets monthly to direct funds and plan fundraisers.  The next meeting is November 8 at 10am in WSC 118.  

Athletic Boosters   
MVAB’s mission is to help MVH Athletics provide a positive atmosphere of sportsmanship and learning for the MVHS student-athlete and their athletic teams.  This is done by providing needed funding for a variety of capital improvements, as well as educational and program support.

Fundraising for Mustang Football. 

Students of Excellence  12/17
Teachers each nominate a student for the intangible efforts. The nominated student is hard-working, has a positive attitude, and adds a special element to the classroom.
