FRIENDS OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS CLUB:  Meeting Friday, March 9th at lunch in 423.  We will be taking volunteers for Special Olympics Spring Dance the morning of Friday, March 16th.


CURE SMA WEEK   On Friday, March 9th be sure to wear your Cure SMA shirt or purple and orange! 


ROBOTICS:  On Saturday, March 10th, from 4-8 PM, eat at the Chipotle in Danville on Railroad Ave., mention that you are supporting Monte Vista Robotics at checkout, and we will receive 50% of the funds generated.

  1. We will be having our first meeting of the semester March 8-9 (8th for freshman and juniors and 9th for sophomores and seniors). 
  2. For new members who did not get to sign up last semester, please bring in your completed application to the next club meetings. Late applications will be accepted the following Monday, March 12th

2018-19 Course Selections: The online portal for requesting classes for the 2018-19 school year will be open March 12th and closes at 4pm on March 16th. To access the portal, go to the Monte Vista homepage and under Quick Links, click on Infinite Campus/Parent Portal. Another helpful resource is the Course Selection tab under the Counseling section on the Monte Vista homepage. The signed course selection worksheet is due back to your English teacher on Monday, March 19th!


ATHLETIC BOOSTERS:  On the last Monday in March, the Monte Vista Athletic Boosters will be hosting the first of two events this year dedicated to Achieving Excellence.  This will be an informative and entertaining evening where we will hear from a former NCAA and current Pac-12 investigator and head compliance professional about the importance of keeping the rules AND what to do after mistakes are made.  Please arrive early as a capacity crowd is expected.  This is for parents and student athletes and anyone else interested.  The event will last no longer than one hour.

MVAB Annual Crab Feed Fundraiser  April 14, 2018 – 6pm – Danville Community Center  On the second Saturday in April, the MV Athletic Boosters will be hosting:    Tickets:  $50/ ticket ($20 of each ticket goes back to team.)

SAN RAMON HACKATHON:  April 7, 2018  Local high school student wants to bring the hackathon idea to focus on improving Emergency Preparedness with innovative ideas and apps for San Ramon.  Bring your creative mind and collaborate with teammates to work on this challenge -- and win cool prizes while having fun! March Imagineering at MVHS: MV 9th graders – take an afternoon Imagineering Class at MV to have fun with Coding.  The classes are also open to 7-9 graders to help bridge the transition to MV.  Use discount code Welcome2HS at registration and receive a $25 discount. These classes are also great for 9th graders who are considering their options for next year electives.

Attention Juniors, Junior Prom is here!  CLICK HERE for tickets.  Junior Prom will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 7:00 – 11:00 pm at the Scottish Rites Center on Lake Merritt in Oakland.  Tickets will be sold online for $105 each until Sunday, March 18.  The LAST day to purchase tickets will be on Monday, March 19th for $115 each and can only be purchased through the bookkeepers window.  Tickets can be purchased online through the webstore and at lunch through the bookkeepers window while available.  Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable so be sure you plan on attending prom before you purchase your tickets!  You must have your ticket and current student ID card for admittance to the prom. 


MV Athletic Boosters Scholarship – Award Program   Attention Graduating Seniors: Did you participate in Monte Vista athletics?  Are you looking for some cash to help pay for college next year?  Or, are you planning to join the U.S. Military after graduation? Then you may be eligible for the Monte Vista Athletic Boosters Scholarship-Award Program.   Rules, eligibility guidelines, and the application form may be found on the MV Athletic Boosters website (http://mvathleticboosters.org/mvab-scholarship/).  Applications are being accepted now and must be received no later than March 29, 2018.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact Bill Bloore at ub21359@yahoo.com.
