SRVUSD Textbook Replacement Policy -

Students are responsible to return all textbooks, instructional materials and novels loaned to them for the school year.  If students do not return the materials loaned to them, they will be charged a replacement fee to replace the lost edition(s).  In order to assure that we are getting the correct book, we are unable to accept replacement books purchased online or at bookstores.  There are often many editions available of the same book as well as California vs National editions that appear to be an exact match outwardly; however, the content can, and does, vary.  Also, used books often arrive with missing pages, and/or damage that causes the book to be unusable.  To ensure that we get the correct edition that exactly matches the one that was lost, our District textbook clerk will order a replacement from one of our reliable vendors.

TEXTBOOK TIPS

**If a student checks out a textbook from the Textbook Office, they will be held responsible if the textbook is lost or damaged.

**ALL textbooks are barcoded.  Your student is responsible for returning the book with the barcode that was checked out to them.  If the book is lost, it will need to be paid for.

**All textbooks that are checked out from the Textbook Office need to be returned directly to the Textbook Office, not to the teacher.

**If a student drops a class, please return the textbook back to the Textbook Office immediately.

TEXTBOOK CHECKOUT POLICY

Textbook checkout policy is consistent across the San Ramon Valley Unified School district high schools.  The only textbooks that will be checked out prior to starting the new school year will be for AP classes that require the textbook for summer assignments.  There will be no summer checkouts for any other AP classes or regular classes.  During the school year textbooks may only be checked out if the student is currently taking the class.  Most textbooks are available for in-library use in the Contra Costa libraries at Mongomery Street and Dougherty Station in San Ramon.

Here are some ways you can access the textbooks used at MVHS.

*Check the SRVUSD Adopted Textbook list.
*Buy or rent your own copy of the textbooks at:
-Amazon.com
-ebay
-Half.com

*Use the textbooks at the Contra Costa County Library.  They can be used for up to two hours while in the library.
