Monte Vista Zoom Incident

February 25, 2021

Dear Monte Vista Staff and Parents/Guardians,

We apologize for the inappropriate language some of our students and families may have seen during a course scheduling Google meeting which was hacked by an unknown source last evening. We had an incident where an individual entered the Google meeting and used racially offensive, derogatory and otherwise inappropriate language. These events are deeply disturbing, and we want you to know that we are working with local authorities to find the person responsible.

Though we are disappointed the incident occurred, the counselors were able to successfully restart the meeting so that our families were able to get the information they needed.  This is a breach of trust we take very seriously, and will work to ensure we provide a quality and reliable Google Meet experience in the future.

If you have questions about this incident, please reach out to me anytime.

Dr. Kevin Ahern….
Principal, Monte Vista High School
